ComStar has gone thru a lot of changes over the past couple of years… I want to take a moment to let you know what is going on with us. As some of you know, I have or am in the process of completing a buy out of my wonderful partners. With that change in ownership, I wanted to let you know…

First, we are still here… ComStar has always been a family based business, and that continues. However, ComStar is focusing its gaming elements into the three partnerships below.

Avalon Games Where Fun Happens!

This is my partnership with Robert Hemminger. Avalon was formed as a merger of some products, cash and other assets by Rob (former proprietor of Bad Baby Games) and me. The company, which started in September of 2009, has grown to be one of the leading sellers of gaming materials on such sites as e23, RPGNow and DT:RPG.

In addition to creating their own products, Avalon also serves as the home of some other small publisher imprints (Bedrock Games, Port Nova and Frostbrand Art Studio, to name a few).

In addition to working with some imprints, Avalon is also invested in some other companies (Ages Gaming recently became a wholly owned subsidiary, Stormwatch Games will provide ongoing support for Eldoria, and a new design studio that will be launched soon).

Port Nova

Port Nova Media: This is my partnership with Kevin Monk, and is the home of the Universe Project (Lightspeed and the ongoing setting expansion from Astral Empires).

Port Nova is a great source for creative and innovative science fiction material.

Avenger Enterprises

Many that know of ComStar know us from our partnership with Martin Dougherty in Avenger Enterprises. Avenger continues to publish Far Avalon (Martin's original setting) and continued support for Traveller.

Avenger's Traveller material is published thru Mongoose Publishing as part of their official Traveller line, and includes such popular titles as Sector Fleet and Crowded Hours.
